Laurent Leemans, the artist behind The Golden Son, draws from a wide range of dark Americana and dark rock influences, delivering a sound that is as emotionally charged as it is musically understated. You’ll hear influences ranging from David Eugene Edwards, Nick Cave, Chelsea Wolfe, and Rowland S. Howard to Patti Smith, The The, and Johnny Cash’s American Recordings. It will not have escaped your keen observation that these are artists who prioritize intensity over spectacle. Laurent is also an experienced (yet never jaded) musician whom connoisseurs will recognize from La Vierge du Chancelier Rolin, Ceilí Moss, and/or The Imaginary Suitcase.
